For most people, making interesting video content is still a difficult thing to do, but with this application, ordinary people will be able to make video content easily.
YouCut application that offers 2 (two) versions: Free and Premium, is a video maker and editing application created by the developer based in Hong Kong. One of the advantages of this application is that it can produce videos without any watermark so that the final video looks more professional. Especially for the Premium version, users will get a number of additional features such as no ads evermore, no limitation of photo or videos import at a time, and unlock all premium music and effects. A number of editing features available in this application include trim video, adjust video volume, adjust video speed, import images, add music, adjust video ratio, add background colour for videos, add subtitles, copy videos, edit music, etc.
To be able to use this application, you must first download and install through the Play Store which the size file is about 71 (seventy-one) MB.
Then open the YouCut application and click the circle button marked “+”. Next, add the video or photo file that you have prepared as the main material for making video content that you will create. Click the right arrow “->” for the next process. If the video is to be uploaded to Instagram which is limited to a maximum duration of 60 seconds (1 minute) then if necessary, do the video cutting process by using the “Trim-Split-Delete” menu. For example in the video that I uploaded, the total duration of the original video reached 1 minute 33 seconds so I had to cut in several parts so that the total video duration does not exceed 1 minute. The trick is to divide the whole video into 2 (two) parts. Click “Trim” (icon with scissors) then slide the left and right border to make 1 (one) video become 2 (two) separate video. After that, select “Split” so that the video was split into 2 (two) separate parts.
Returning to the video editor page, there are now 2 (two) separate video files, then in the part of the video that we want to remove, select it, then select “Delete” (icon with a picture of the trash). Now the remaining video duration has been reduced to under 1 minute.
Next, we can add background music as an additional effect. The trick is to select “Music” then search for mp3 files on the cellphone then select the “USE” button. Because the duration of the mp3 added exceeds the duration of the main video, we need to adjust the duration of the background music. Place the vertical marker at the right end of the main video which is the endpoint of the video, then select the yellow block which is the background music layer that you want to adjust its duration. Next, slide the arrow at the right end of the music file and swipe to the left so that it approaches or equals the final position of the main video.
Next use the facilities “fade in” and “fade out” in the background music by clicking the music layer again and then selecting the “Fade” menu. We can adjust the fade in and fade out volume transition patterns by sliding the red dots on each setting. In the example I made, I chose to maximize fade in and fade out by shifting the red dot to the far right. Select the check button to complete this section.
Next, I will reduce the volume of background music because it disturbs the original sound of the people in the main video. The way is to click the music layer again, then select “Volume”. Slide the red marker point then swipe left to reduce the music volume (you can also adjust the volume level of the main video). If it is appropriate, select the checkmark to complete this section.
If you want to add text to the video then just click “Text” then fill in the words you want. If there are 2 (two) or more paragraphs then we can simply copy and paste the first text that has been made and just replace it with another sentence (click the stacked paper image on the lower left of the frame text). Thus, the size and type of font used will be maintained uniformity. When finished, click the checkmark again to complete this section. The second text must be moved so that it is aligned to the right of the first text in order to get the effect of sequential text and not stacking at a certain time position (hold the second text layer then move or slide to the first text layer but positioned on the right).
If there is no editing process needed then click the “SAVE” button where YouCut provides several choices of the final video quality ranging from high quality, medium quality, and low quality. The conversion process will take several minutes to tens of minutes depending on the length of the video and the quality of the selected output video. The final file will be stored in the folder/storage/emulated/0/youcut where we can directly share the video to various social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and others. However, if the final file size of the video is deemed too large then the file should be compressed using the video compressor application.
